Workshop Furniture

School furniture

made with recycled bottle caps

The disposal of plastic waste is an environmental concern as the world’s consumption of plastic polymers in consumer goods and packaging has increased dramatically in the last decade. Throughout its entire life-cycle, plastic material affects the environment. Most of the plastics we dispose are not biodegradable and could stay in nature for years, and it also produces unhealthy smoke when burned.

Plastic recycling is one of the solutions to minimize these negative effects on nature as well as minimizing energy usage and the need for nonrenewable resources. Together with the local crafmen we are in the process of developing a set of modular school furniture pieces for the school of Nungwi Village in Zanzibar. We are aiming for a modular piece, easy to transport and assemble.

This project involve dedicated research, close colaboration with local community and hands on product making.
