Thomas

THOMAS - born in Ghent in 1993. Before he started his higher education, he participated in a volunteering project with the organisation Bouworde in Romania where he helped to built a school in a poor gypsy village. This showed him what architecture could mean for a community and so he began studying Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Ghent. He now just finished his Master in 2017. Intrigued by the notions of vernacular architecture and how it could be important to create a more sustainable and durable kind of building, the discovery of C-re-aid led to an almost immediate decision to join the organisation and learn much more about these aspects of architecture. Now working on the team, he is helping people in Tanzania but also learning a lot from them."
